It was such a joy to celebrate my first Mother's Day. I am so overwhelmed by the honor of being a mother to Kaylee. She is an incredible blessing that I continually thank the Lord for. I can't imagine a better job. Sometimes I feel very inadequate, but I am grateful for God's grace and faithful to grow me as a mom. To celebrate, our little family headed down to Denali National Park. Because the tourism season has not yet started, you are actually able to drive a ways into the park, which is not the case later on in the season. We saw some beautiful sights, a few caribou, 3 bull moose, and we got our first look at Mt. Mckinley. It doesn't look extremely huge from within the park because it is surrounded by much closer, smaller mountains, but it was still cool to see. The best views we have had are actually driving home from Fairbanks. From those shots on Parks highway, you can definitely tell it's a big one. Anyway, after a nice afternoon in the park, we topped the day off with a tasty pizza. It was a lovely day to enjoy the great blessing of motherhood.
Pictures from the day are at the link below... same drill as before... with our slow internet, they load better on this site. Hope it's not a pain.
Well, that's it for now... I know, it's a shame we didn't get a single picture of the mother and her sweet daughter on Mother's day, but thankfully, we have several floating around.
