Thoughts from Emily: As I have journeyed through different stages of life, there have been many moments where I have been reminded of God's incredible faithfulness through the big and small details of my life. However, I must say, I cannot recall a time where I have been so blown away by His faithfulness as I was through the labor/delivery/first few days of Kaylee's life. And it brings me tears of joy and thankfulness, knowing that this same God will continue on in His faithfulness and love to an undeserving me in the weeks, months, and years ahead. Labor and delivery was definitely the hardest and most painful thing I have ever been through, but even in such difficult moments, I look back to see God's hand so vividly in it all. At moments, I thought, "No, this is not what I need. It's going all wrong," like when my absolutely amazing labor nurse, who had helped carry me through (along with my incredible husband) the majority of my labor, finished her shift when I was 7 cm and 2 hours from delivery. Yet God knew just what I needed and He provided. This has continued to be so true as we have settled in at home. Our first night and second day home were probably some of the most challenging and exhausting moments of my life, yet God demonstrated His incredible love for me, causing me to feel more loved than I can ever remember, through a selfless, patient husband. (who is also a PHENOMENAL father as well!) Kaylee truly is such a joy and we are soaking in these precious moments. We smile, laugh, and cry (mostly Emily on this one) often as we experience this new life as parents. We are so thankful to the Lord for sharing this miracle with us! Thank you, as well, for your love and prayers. It has been obvious that there are those lifting us up to the Father. We hope to continue putting up pictures and videos in the days ahead. Kaylee keeps us busy but she is changing so quickly that we want to try to document it as much as possible.
I am so happy for you all!! Brandon and Emily, may God guide and bless you giving you wisdom and joy as you raise little Kaylee for His glory!
