Northern Lights

So, this was supposed to be a great year for the Aurora, but up until this point, we hadn't seen a lot of great light displays (except apparently the "finger incident" night). We see little shows somewhat often. They just don't have super fascinating movement, vivid colors, or great expanse, but this one topped all those. Brandon knew this particular night was supposed to be good, but part of what makes it tricky is that they are often on and off so you kind of "happen" to catch them. This picture doesn't do justice to what we saw. I should have been studied up on the appropriate settings and taken the time to get my tripod, but I still don't think that would have captured it. Nonetheless, it is fun to a have picture that goes with a memory of a great display of different colors and lots of movement.

This was one of the things on my "Alaskan" bucket list, and we got to check off yet another on today! Yep, we went dog mushing. It was a short, fun ride that Kaylee got to join us on and we really enjoyed it. I'll try to put a picture up sometime. I think there are only a couple more things that we would like to do before leaving the wildly unique state. We'll see if they happen! Until then, we'll keep embracing each day as it comes.
