I do have to say, it is getting harder to take pictures of her with Big Blue. Not only can she climb off the couch and crawl away at record speed, but this time around, this is all she wanted to do. : )
She has started caring for and "givin' love" to anything that's soft and cuddly a lot lately. The other day, I was thinking how it makes me really sad that Kaylee doesn’t have any other babies/kids her age close by, because she loves babies and I really think it would help her development if she had others her age around. What brought this to mind that day was when I was playing videos of when she was little and she just stared at the screen so intently. Then, she crawled to her pile of treasures (aka. Crumpled up paper), grabbed one, brought it back and held it up to the “baby” on the screen.
A couple days after I was saddened by this thought, a single mom with a little 24 month old moved into town. He is a little older and a lot bigger than Kaylee but is still a lot closer in age to Kaylee than any of the other kids in Anderson. It turns out he will be spending a lot of time with us too. I'm officially a hired at "Emily's Day Care." There aren't any child care options around here and after some discussion, we decided I could take on his care while his mom works. This is overwhelming and exciting. I am really hoping it will provide great opportunities to teach Kaylee more about loving others, and I look forward to pouring into his little life as well. Knowing what's ahead makes me tired already though, so I think I will hit the hay! : )
