As I
shared in my last post, we are excited to be hosting four siblings from an
Eastern European orphanage this summer. We see God’s hand in the midst of it
and we pray our hearts will trust and press into Him through the challenges,
doubts, and joys. We also greatly appreciate your prayers for all 9 of us as we
journey into this unknown.
There have been a few people who have asked how they can help in
regards to the summer. For those of you who live out of state, probably the easiest
way would be to help with some of the cost of their airfare, visas, etc. The
Lord has been good to provide for us and we can honestly say, we have no needs,
but, if you pray about it, and feel led to come alongside us in this way, here
is a link to do so:
While they are here or once they return to the orphanage, another
way to love on them would be to write letters of encouragement and truth.
For
friends and family in Colorado, a more tangible way to help would be to donate
items for the kids.
Items
we are looking for… (GENTLY USED ITEMS ARE PERFECT)
Summer
and winter clothing… boys size 6 through 14 (Sm-XLg), girls size 8 thru 12
(Md-Lg)
Shoes
(Not sure on sizes, maybe 13-6)
Backpacks
Small
toys that don’t use batteries
Bikes/scooters
Twin
sized waterproof mattress pad
Other
ways to help:
A
(simple) meal while they are here
Lastly,
one of our biggest needs is that each of the kids is required to have an eye
and dental exam while they are here. If anyone knows of a dentist or
optometrist who would be willing to donate or discount these services for the
kids that would be amazing!
Thank
you for caring about and partnering with us as we seek to love on these
orphans. Sola de gloria!
How wonderful! I am so excited to see what God is doing in and through you all as you offer yourselves to Him! I will certainly be praying for this summer, all 9 of you! Our Church here in Greenville hosts Belarussian Children every year as well! I have long wanted to do it, but, I'm waiting on God's timing. Meanwhile... we are expecting number 4! Crazy and wonderful in many ways. We are looking forward to how God is going to work out all the details! Thanks for this update! Love, Marie
